Motu Novu seeks a junior workshop assistant, either with or without prior relevant experience, to help manage and operate the product development workshop of Motu Novu Labs, maintain its facility and tools, and contribute to the firm’s projects. This position is flex-time, but may lead to full-time depending on interest and performance.
What You Do
- Help manage and operate the workshop of Motu Novu Labs, and to maintain its facilities.
- Contribute to the firm’s product development projects (from concept to alpha stage.)
- Operate hand-tools, analog power-tools and, with training, CNC equipment.
- Organize and properly maintain the workshop’s equipment, tools, materials inventory.
- Collaborate with other professionals at Motu Novu as well as clients and vendors.
What You Need
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate tools and equipment, abiding to safety best-practices.
- Keen interest in product development and multi-material, multi-process fabrication.
- Sufficient strength to comfortably, safely, and repeatedly lift and move objects of at least 50 lbs.
- Optionally, basic knowledge of CAD/CAM and/or digital-control fabrication tools.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Legally authorized to work in the USA (i.e. US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or valid work visa).
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
